A Rockin' Time at Disney on Ice

We are excitedly already anticipating our first family vacation to "the place where dreams come true", and plan to visit as soon as our youngest son is old enough to walk and fully comprehend his surroundings.
I've been to Disney World 3 times in my life, and it truly is magical.

This past weekend, Disney brought some of it's magic to our lovely city with the Disney on Ice Rockin' Ever After show.
We were so lucky to have scored free tickets to attend the show on the 2nd last day in Toronto (which was this past Friday the 15th) and on top of that attend the VIP Meet & Greet hosted by Today's Parent Magazine.

Our little girl is a big fan of the Disney Junior channel on television and also many of the classic Disney movies I loved as a child (and even still do to this day), my daughter now has a fondness for.

Of course,  Ava expected to see characters either smaller or the same height as her according to what she sees on the screen, so her very first meeting with Mickey Mouse wasn't really a jumping with pure excitement type of embrace. But after a few minutes of exchanges, she finally warmed up to the fella.

Ava wanted her daddy to stay with her was she met Mickey.
Our seats were amazing!  We were front row centre and in my opinion, the best seats in the house.

After a knocked over spilled drink (thanks to cramped stadium seating) and a slightly groggy and hungry toddler (and perhaps even mommy)... our tummies were satisfied, the lights were dimmed and the show began!

The first act was Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald introducing a chain of stories that would then lead to The Little Mermaid, Tangled, Brave and Beauty and the Beast.

I really enjoyed this performance of Under the Sea with Sebastian. He's so fun!

Brave happens to be a new favourite of Ava's. And Merida kind of reminds of my little girl -- stubborn, strong and sweet. And of course, brave!

I have to admit, the child in me squealed in delight (quietly, in my head) when Beauty & the Beast began. Specifically the part when Belle was walking through the French town from the Bookshop and being followed by Gaston, her relentless, alpha male (but handsome) admirer.
My favourite Disney Movie!

Although my video camera on the iPhone was not able to capture these performances well enough to showcase the immense splendor, I thought I still had to share with you because it was too good not to!

"Be... our... guest! Be our guest! Put our service to the test
Tie your napkin 'round your neck, cherie, and we'll provide the rest
Soup du jour, Hot hors d'oeuvres. Why, we only live to serve
Try the grey stuff... It's delicious!
Don't believe me? Ask the dishes!
They can sing, they can dance
After all, Miss, this is France!
And a dinner here is never second best!"

We had a fun-filled evening at Disney on Ice (even my husband was blown away and very much into it!). If you didn't get a chance to watch it this season, definitely make sure to catch it next time it's in town.
Thank you, Today's Parent, for the fantastic opportunity!

Ah so fun! The child in me got a tad excited just watching those videos I can only imagine how it was live. Disney tends to do that to you, doesn't it?
I will make sure to catch the show with my nieces next year.
