Stylish Fall Décor Inspiration

Taking my son on a walk to our neighborhood playground, the first bite of Autumn's crisp cool air grazed my  cheeks and looking around it finally starting hitting me -- Fall is definitely in the air.
I enjoy the warmer months but I have to admit, I LOVE Fall! It's my favourite season. What's not to love about it? Warm bevvies by a fireplace, fuzzy blankets, the beautiful colours of the changing leaves, abundance of fresh apples waiting to be picked and eaten, Fall Fashion and of course Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Being an interior design enthusiast, you can always tell what season it is just by looking at the decor inside and outside of my home. With the changes of the season, comes the transition in style pieces. It's easy to change up your home's seasonal style by just changing up a few things and adding some key seasonal ornaments instead of changing anything major.
Pillow covers, throw blankets, flowers/branches in vases, candles (colour and scent of candles) are just some examples of items in the home that can be changed to accommodate the change.
So what am I loving this year for Fall Home Décor?

I know it's part of fashion, but it's also super cool to incorporate into your Fall décor: Ombré!
I am loving these ideas! (Although they do sort of remind me of candy corn. But that's OK right?)

Ombre Wine Vases: BRIT + CO | DIY Ombre Glowing Hurricane Glasses | Ombre Lamp | Ombre Pumpkins

Feeling inspired yet?

Check out this collage of my absolute favourite 2013 Fall Décor.
I am loving white pumpkins (a favourite since last year); burlap is always the perfect fall decor addition; candles add an instant warmth - perfect for Fall (get them in fall colours scented with vanilla, cinnamon and pumpkin!) and I really admire large lanterns in different sizes filled with small pumpkins and candles.

Happy Decorating!

I'm FALLing in Love with Fall 2013's Fashion Trends

Mustard Yellows and Dark Olives, Knee-high boots and trench coats, over-sized sweaters and leather, tribal and plaid... there's so much to LOVE about Fall Fashion.
Some classic loves and some new, Fall trends never cease to fail me -- my FAVOURITE fashion season.
Check out a few of these lovely inspirational finds from Polyvore. Seriously, what's not to love?

According to Pantone, here is the fashion colour report for Fall 2013 for Women.
I love them all! Hard to choose a favourite in this batch.

Although I will be sad to bid adieu to the warmer weather, longer days of sunshine and sandals, looking at these fab fashion trends is making me super excited to welcome Fall weather (with a warm latté).

I've FALLen in Love...

... with Oxblood!
Yes, it sounds disgusting but speaking in the fashion-sense, far from it.
It's my new colour crush of Fall 2012 and I'm looking forward to rocking some Oxblood style this season.
Check it out!

Another Fall trend that I love are the dark, richer lipsticks.  I'm hands down a lipstick girl and Fall is a great time to start experimenting with lip colour.
Usually in the summer, I opt for the lip gloss as opposed to lipstick so when Fall/Winter hits, my lips are ready for a splash of colour!

Rich, dark shades can look fabulous on gals of any skin tone, whether you're fair or tan.
To get into the fall vibe, try a velvety magenta or maroon that'll look great with all the navy, orange and purple shades on the runway this season.

I also happen to really love the plum lip!

It has a serious vampy-look to it, especially if you're pale-skinned (like me), so apply accordingly!
And remember, with dark lips keep your eye makeup simple!

Bright red is always in style, and never more so than in the fall. Match the changing foliage with a red that's as pretty and feminine as it is bold and unmistakable. To keep it from looking too summery, opt for a matte formula instead of a shimmery one. The soft style of matte makeup gives off a luxurious vibe that'll go perfectly with any cashmere sweater or knit scarf.

If you're new to bold lipstick, ease into the trend with a color that's a little more muted. Reds and pinks with brownish-orange undertones will blend with your natural lip hue but still add that pop of seasonal color that will make it seem like you've been snacking on pumpkin pie and cinnamon.

Prep your lips for color application with a lip scrub. A gentle rub before bedtime, and your pout will be pretty as soon as you wake up.

What Fall trend have you fallen for?

Give Thanks

Every single year that first leaf turns an orange-red, the crisp breeze tickles my neck, and the warmth of some hot cocoa in my hands during a walk through a pumpkin patch, I can't help but be filled with this overwhelming happiness. There's something truly entrancing about this time of year.
Next to the enchantment of Christmas, Fall carries a magic all it's own.

Seriously what's not to love about Fall?  Yes, there can me some chilly days, but that's what fireplaces, warm drinks, lots of cuddles and some warm hearty soup is for!
Both my children were born in Fall, so that makes it extra-special for us as well.

My husband and I like to enjoy either some coffee, apple cider or glass of wine some days after dinner (once the little ones are asleep) and sit outside savouring in the Fall beauty with a warm comfy throw and reflect on all the amazing (and not so amazing) things the year has brought us.

Most often, leaving us with many laughs and whole lot to be grateful for.

This past Thanksgiving, I came down with a horrible cold so we kept it very simple.
I couldn't miss preparing something especially because it was our son's very first Thanksgiving with us (and we are SO thankful to have him as part of our life now), so I just had to muster up some energy and a smile and do the best I can.

No turkey this year but we did have some delicious chicken complete with stuffing and sauce, roasted seasoned potatoes, green beans, butternut squash soup and a delicious apple crumble pie.

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving with those you love and let us continue to count our blessings each and every day.
