She's Making a List... #SearsMom

She's making a list, I'm checking it twice...

3 more weeks till Christmas!
My daughter turned 5 this year and every year since she was 2 years old and able to grasp a pen properly in her hand, we prepared her Christmas Wish List with her for her letter to Santa.
I cannot think of any other place to go to that is as informative and fun to flip through than the yearly Holiday Sears Wish Book.
We usually do this after our decorations have been put up as we have Ava place her finished letter to Santa anywhere on the Christmas Tree before bed and wake up to find it gone. She thinks Santa has special Elves that pick them up from the tree.
My Mother-in-Law use to tell my husband that when he was little and for some reason that stuck to him and therefore got passed down as something fun to do with our daughter.

Now that she's a big sister (and a very loving and caring one at that), it was a pleasant sight for me to see her circling a few toddler toys on her own.
"I'm picking the ones Talan wants, Mommy!" Because obviously she knows which ones he wants.
They've got a secret sibling code that only they can understand.

What she circled for her lil' brother. He already owns a Big Hugs Elmo! :)

I also find it so interesting to see the growth in my daughter each year depending on the stuff that she circles.
What I sometimes think she may want, surprisingly she doesn't circle. And you think you know your child really well! It goes to show you how much they are growing each day and that they have their own individual interest. Very helpful!

It's usually followed by milk and cookies and a Christmas movie before bed which is why we often do this together as a family on a weekend.

Do you have any traditions for writing Wish Lists with your children?

Sears is also hosting an amazing contest on right now called the Sears Wishes of Joy Contest on now until December 15 where entrants can SHARE their wish lists (to win!) PLUS many more opportunities to win up to $10,000 in prizes. It's lots of fun! Check it out here!

Quick Kitchen Organization for the Non-Crafty & Busy Woman #TestDriveMoms

Photo from Etsy.

We browse Pinterest Ooohing and Aaahing while pinning fabulous ideas from succulent recipes to awesome DIY Crafts but if you're like me, the non-crafty type (that does not even know how to sew if my life depended on it) let alone create something like what you see above (how cool is that wine cork wall decor?), then you'll absolutely love these quick ideas for getting that chaotic kitchen of yours under wraps.

People come in my home and automatically assume I am this super organized work-from-home mother from appearances alone. Appearances can be very deceiving my friends.
I admit it.
Prior to being a Frigidaire Test Drive Mom and receiving my Frigidaire Refrigerator, I had zero time to keep my kitchen clean and coordinated. My fridge was a scary place as was the bottom of my sink and cabinets!
Yikes!
This is hard for those that know me well to fathom considering I am a total clean-freak!
Borderline OCD if you will.

You already know how much my Frigidaire has saved my fridge-sanity with the ample space, smudge-proof stainless steel and cool shelving features amongst many other features. But on top of all that, my Frigidaire has also sparked the "organization bug" in me.

I love to cook. So with that, one of the biggest issues I had in my kitchen was the clutter of cooking utensils, small appliances and especially the packets of cooking/baking spices and ingredients.
I struck GOLD when I decided to hit up my local Dollar Store. Cheap and efficient organization tools galore! If you love tea as much as I do, those handy dividers are really great for them.

One of the coolest organization tools at the dollar store was the over the door hanger rack. Perfect to hang behind the sink cabinet door and hang cleaning products! I love that it freed up more space under the sink AND it was easier for me to find the products I required.

I thank Frigidaire (and Mom Central Canada) immensely for not only the opportunity to be part of the Frigidaire #TestDriveMoms and receive our gorgeous refrigerator but also for igniting the systematized (but still non-crafty and always busy) woman in me and helping me turn my kitchen into a more organized space in my home.
More organized kitchens calls for more time to whip up some deliciousness! Win-win!
And of course we all know I will have no problems fitting all that extra goodness in my Frigidaire.

Getting More Organized with The Frigidaire Gallery® French Door Refrigerator

Very rarely do I get dancing-in-the-kitchen and squealing like a tween-age girl at a Justin Bieber Concert excited. This was one of those times.

I was selected amongst many other (very deserving) bloggers to be a new Test Drive Mom with Frigidaire Canada and Mom Central Canada.
What does that mean?
I get to "test drive" the Frigidaire Gallery® French Door Refrigerator which means a brand spanking new gorgeous Stainless Steel Frigidaire Refrigerator for my family! WOOHOO!

You can follow the conversation with us on Twitter at #TestDriveMoms.

I am still reeling with delight and excitement and truly very honoured that I was chosen to be part of this fantastic program for a brand that my family has owned and loved for many years.

It wasn't until we moved into our new home last year that we had to say buh-bye to our older Frigidaire and settle with the fridge that was already in our new home.
Thankfully the new home included a Frigidaire Oven!

We have a lot of home renovation projects we're thrilled to start within the new few years, the kitchen being one of the main ones, but of course that comes with a hefty budget.
So we have to do it slowly but surely.

Our new Frigidaire Gallery® French Door Refrigerator was the perfect addition and beginning of our kitchen renovation!
Our current appliances are all white (which is okay) but I personally love Stainless Steel Appliances.

My fridge came in late last week and after getting it into our home (and my giddy prancing around the kitchen while the hubby finished up some quick assembly), I couldn't help but stand there with sheer admiration.

We don't have much space in our kitchen (small but brimming with lots of heart and good meals!), so it's amazing how much I can get into my new Frigidaire Fridge. So very helpful!

Before I go into details, we have to talk about the Designer Three-Tier LED Lighting (which you can't see with the pictures).

Upon opening, the lights slowly turn on causing a simultaneous"oooh-aaahh" effect between me and my hubby.
Stunning lighting with lights from every level of the fridge. It also lights up when you're getting water from the water dispenser. No more waking the entire family in the middle of the night by having to turn on the kitchen lights. You can see everything very well with the LED lighting.

Drinking water will never be the same again.
One of my favourite features on my new fridge is the PureSource Ultra® Water Filtration.
The PureSource Ultra®  Water Filtration System is best in class and removes 99.9% of bacteria/chemicals from your water! For someone like me that can always tell the when I'm being served tap water (blech!), this is wonderful!

And now, my friends, I take you to a place only those near and dear to me have gone to...
Welcome to the inside of my Refrigerator.

This was a shot taken pre-grocery shopping - there's still lots of space left!
There is way more space in this fridge than the last fridge I owned.
We love to cook (and eat!) in our family and the last fridges we had truly did not measure up with space. Our food was getting suffocated inside causing them to spoil quicker but that's not the case here.

The SpaceWise® Organization System makes it easy to keep food organized and easy to find when you need it with a Store-More™ full-width drawer, gallon-size door bins, and Effortless™ Glide freezer drawers.

I love how how you can slide the shelves out so you can organize better and find the foods hidden in the back without struggle.
And you can easily make room for tall containers with the Flip-Up and Slide-Under Shelves. So cool!
Even cooler? The shelves are made of  SpillSafe® glass, designed to keep spills contained. And if it's happened to you (who hasn't it happened to?), spillage in the fridge is not fun to clean up.

The Effortless™ Glide Crisper Drawers keep your fruits and vegetables fresh in the crisper drawers which easily glide out, and are designed to effortlessly close.

The large capacity Cool Zone™ drawer provides enough space to easily store anything from sheet cakes and large platters to snacks and juice boxes.

The PureAir Ultra® air filters effortlessly keep the air in your refrigerator fresh. No more having to include a box of Baking Soda inside your fridge to deodorize! Trust me it works.
We had some Indian Food (we love Indian!) the day after getting the fridge and stored the leftovers inside with no trace of odour after many hours. Sweet!

The Effortless™ Glide Freezer Drawers glide out smoothly and fully extend, giving you easy access to what’s inside. And again, I can get so much in there with the deep freezer storage and the convenient slide-out adjustable divider.

And finally, last but certainly not least, my ultimate favourite feature of my new fridge - the Smudge-Proof Stainless Steel!

Real Stainless Steel with a protective coating reduces fingerprints and smudges so it’s easy to clean.
Big check-mark in this home of sticky fingers!
I'm borderline OCD when it comes to cleanliness in my home and even the tiniest little smudge drives me bonkers. Think Monica in Friends... yeah, not even kidding.

Cleaning this fridge is a breeze and the fact that I don't have to worry about the smudges (which is usually so easy to see on stainless steel) is just perfect.

We are really enjoying our new fridge and probably driving my family and friends crazy with how much I talk about it, but if you owned one you would totally get why.

Thank you again Frigidaire Canada and Mom Central Canada for choosing me to be a Test Drive Mom!

Join the Finish Revolution!

Au revoir! Adios! Sayanara! Arrivederci! Adeus!
However you say it - finally say Good bye! to dirty, stubborn dishes by joining the Finish Revolution!

I like to consider myself a dish washing pro.  I've been a dishwasher owner for over 5 years now and really don't know how I could survive without one.  Especially after becoming a mom to a growing (and constantly eating) family.

These dishes won't know what hit 'em!
But, with every good dishwasher, an even greater dish washing cleaning agent is a must. Or really, there's no point.  You know what I mean, right?
I do a lot of entertaining in my home.  For some reason, my kitchen always seems to be where all my guests gravitate to for conversation, wine and of course, food!

So you can imagine my excitement to have been chosen to work with Mom Central Canada as part of their Finish Revolution Campaign with Finish Canada.

I have ever only used one other detergent other than Finish Quantum Tablets and Finish Powerball once in the 5+ years I've been using a dishwasher and never, ever again.  The idea of having to pre-rinse every single time and even re-wash a load of dishes was a pain in the neck (and a strain on my electric bill!).
Finish has been my go-to for dish washing and I don't think that will ever change.

My Finish Package from Mom Central came in today! Yippee!

Who wants free samples & coupons?
Here's some exciting news, friends on facebook!
Finish Canada is now on Facebook and starting today, they will be giving away 50,000 Free Quantum samples, while supplies last to Facebook users who “Like” the Finish page. The sample includes 3 units of Finish Quantum, plus a coupon for $2 off the retail price! So head over to Facebook now and 'Like' Finish Canada!

So what are waiting for? Join the Finish Revolution if you haven't yet and experience the difference and ease of dish washing with Finish products.

Check back often on my blog, facebook page or twitter page for more Finish updates and some seriously exciting promotions and news!
