A Royal Baby Bump Watch
It's true, it's true! The lovely royal couple, William and Kate, are expecting their first baby.
Of course it's not really "new news" per se, since every tabloid has gossiped (and failed miserably at it) about The Duchess of Cambridge being pregnant at some point after their much-publicized nuptials last year in April.
Being a woman at her age (Kate turns 31 this January) in the Royal family definitely must have been a stressful one for Kate in terms of conceiving a child. All eyes were on her to be pregnant right away; in fact, Royal Journalist Ingrid Seward told BBC: "Kate will be 31 in January and I think by royal standards that is relatively old."
I can see a whole lot of 30-something women rolling their eyes here. I will join you on that.
I started my family very young with no regrets at all, but that was by choice. Having children into your 30's and 40's now is fine and no woman should be rushed into it.
Although the happy news has sparked world-wide, The Duchess of Cambridge is said to have been hospitalized at the King Edward VII Hospital after suffering from acute morning sickness which led to hyperemesis gravidarum. She's expected to stay there for several days for supplementary hydration and nutrients.
Scary, but morning sickness is such a healthy sign too! Means the baby is growing well and her hormonal levels are rising dramatically. Keeping her in my thoughts and hoping for the best!
They're such a wonderful couple and I'm thrilled for them both.
Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge!
The Royal Baby Bump Watch has commenced.
