Discovered this recipe from a friend, who by the way is a work from home mom to 4 under 4! So she knows time is of the essence. And quick, yummy meals are super important! Ok, if you don't want your kids eating fried foods, then you may not be interested, but for those fun family nights, instead of ordering pizza, make these!
All the ingredients can be purchased from your local grocery store. I purchase mine from Metro and went with the no name brands and they're just as good! So, it doesn't really matter if it's brand name or no name products, it's really just up to you and which taste you prefer.
Ingredients:
- 2 packages of Egg Wrappers (I use Wings brand and you can usually find these wrappers in the produce section)
- 2 packages of pre-cut pepperoni (or you an buy a medium sized pepperoni & cut up some slices yourself)
- 1 package of shredded Mozzarella Cheese (I used the pizza cheese - Mozzarella, Cheddar & Provolone)
- Pizza Sauce
- water for sealing egg wrappers
- vegetable or canola oil (I use canola, you can also use peanut or sunflower if you prefer)
*Feel free to add any other veggies or cuts you want to your rolls! Customize it any way you want!
Method:
- Add a tsp of pizza sauce to the center of the wrapper, then add 3-4 slices of pepperoni in a straight line in the center, sprinkle on the cheese.
- Follow the directions on the packaging for wrapping (usually it's fold the sides first, then the bottom and top flaps)
- add a bit of water to seal it closed
*You can make a whole bunch of these, cover and put in fridge for a day if you want to make some tomorrow!
The rolls will last about a day in the fridge before you have to cook them.
- In a sauce pan, add the oil about halfway (don't go over that or the oil may spill over) and when it reaches about 350 degrees, add the rolls.
- Flip both sides when cooking. Once they start turning a light brown (about 5 minutes total), remove and place on a plate topped with a paper towel to remove the excess oil.
That's it! Quick and easy, huh?
Enjoy!
