I came across this posting on one of my favourite Blogs and thought I'd share because it's just too beautiful not to. :)This gift will definitely be one of the most cherished gifts the bride & groom will receive on their wedding day!
Here is how you make one of these gorgeous framed invitations!
1.) Email/call the bride to find out the color scheme of the wedding (bridesmaid dress colors, flower colors, accent colors, etc).
2.) After receiving the Wedding invitation:
• Bring the invitation with you to your local craft store (ie. Michael's)
• Shop for a frame suitable to the couples’ taste (modern, classic, silver, gold).
• Be sure the frame will allow room for pressed flowers to be placed around/on the invitation.
• Choose an 8x11 inch piece of scrapbook paper that compliments the invitation colors and frame.
Be sure not to overpower the invitation or flowers with the color paper you choose.
3.) Order dried, pressed flowers that go with the wedding’s color scheme or just pick some up at your local Arts & Crafts Store.
4.) Glue the invitation on the 8x11 scrapbook paper. Be sure to center it by measuring on all sides.
5.) Arrange the flowers on the invitation first. Play around with different arrangements BEFORE you glue. Try placing flowers across the top or bottom of the invite or in opposite corners. You want to create a balance without taking away or covering the information or design on the invite. 6.) Use tweezers to handle the flowers as you arrange them on the invite.
7.) Once you decide on a design/arrangement you like, add a small drop of super glue to the flowers and place them where you like.
8.) Wait for the glue to dry before placing the decorated invite into the frame.
Now you have an inexpensive, but thoughtful and sentimental wedding gift for your bride and groom!
