Can you believe it's the first time for all three of us? Exotic animals, a great place for splish-splash fun for the kids, good food, and I love their service! The people there are wonderful and very helpful.
Driving there was about an hour and 15 minutes or so from our home and a journey itself.
We were wondering if we were ever going to get there because we had to drive through a long regional road with literally hard-to-catch signs. We thought we were going the wrong way! So look out for the signs and google map the directions! Just as long as you follow the directions word for word, you'll get there perfectly. ;)
Before entering the drive-thru reserves, my hubby jokingly hummed the theme song to Jurassic Park because it reminded us so much of it! Haha! It was like we were entering another world.
The drive-thru reserves were fun! We drove in our own vehicle, but they have a tour bus you can opt to take for an additional fee. I would recommend just taking your own vehicle because the animals really don't get all crazy on your car (unlike many rumours I've heard) and you can control what you want to see and for how long.
Seeing all the animals was super exciting for our little one who happened to just wake up from her nap upon entering. I was the most excited when seeing my fave, the giraffe's!
Ava came up close and personal to the reindeer and excitedly said, "Mommy, look! It's a reindeer! Where's Santa Clause?" :) Too cute.
We loved seeing her reaction to all the animals.
After the reserves, we parked our vehicle and headed to Misumu Bay Wet Play for Ava to have some splish-splash fun and cool off. It was a sweltering day!
After the waterworks, we grabbed a bite at one of their many restaurants & cafe's, rode on the choo-choo train and boat, petted some animals and then grabbed some adorable souvenirs to take home.
Overall it was a great day and we enjoyed it thoroughly. I would highly recommend African Lion Safari, especially if you have animal-lovers and much younger children. They will love it!
